Eugene "Gene" Gray, 81, passed away Nov. 19, 2018, at home with his family by his side after several years of declining health. He was born May 16, 1937, in Central Falls, R.I., to Harold and Anita (Levesque) Gray.

He moved to Kearsarge, N.H., at age 5, graduated from Kennett High School in 1956 and joined the Air Force after graduation.

He married Charlyne Russell in 1958, and they celebrated their 60th anniversary in September 2018.

After returning to Conway in 1960 he worked several jobs: Abbott's Dairy, Eastern Slope Auto Body, Kearsarge Metallurgical, G.B. Carrier Corp. and the Town of Conway from which he retired in 1998.

He was a past member of the Conway Elks Club, Elmwood Grange, Conway Fire Department, North Conway Country Club and the American Legion.

He loved hunting, fishing and golf.

He is survived by his wife Charlyne (Russel) Gray; a daughter, two sons. He was predeceased by his parents; his sister Shirley Lowell; and his brother Robert Gray.

Interment in the Conway Village Cemetery later in the spring.
