He graduated from Caney High School and then went on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Neal was a pastor and minister from age 17 and retired in September 2016. He was also a rancher and loved raising horses, dogs and cows. He married Trecia Lea (Nuttall) on Sunday, March 18th, 1956 at Voca, OK. They enjoyed 62 wonderful years together. Neal was a life long southern baptist and was ordained into ministry in 1959 at Cartwright. Then went to California, Kansas, Michigan, Mt. Carmel and then back to Kansas then finally back to Oklahoma. Neal was president of the Kansas-Nebraska Southern Baptist Convention and served 2 terms, was active many years in the Southern Baptist Association. He was a member of Voca Baptist Church. Neal liked to hunt, fish, play dominoes, and was a member of the Sundowner Stock Dog Association.
Neal is survived by his wife, Trecia Lea Alford of the home in Caddo, OK; children, Claudie Alford and wife Lynna of Mt. Carmel, OK, Terry Alford and wife Paulla of Stillwater, OK, Gwen Terrell and husband Alan of Princeton, TX, Kay Stiffler and husband Bruce of Valley Center, KS, Gerald Alford of Alexandria, VA, Tammy Milbourne and husband Gary of Alvin, TX, Lesa White and husband Nathan of Mead, OK, Mark Alford of Detroit, MI; 10 grandsons, Jacob, Scott, Nathan, Robby, Micah, Chase, Isaiah, Zak, Adrian, Lance; 18 granddaughters, Sarah, Carrie, April, Krystal, Katelyn, Misty, Cherity, Candace, Megan, Jessica Z., Jessica R., Janessa, Destiny, Caitlyn, Chasity, Tayla, Brittni, Kamryn; 49 great grandchildren and 3 expected very soon; brothers, Bob Alford and wife Ella of Caney, OK, Carl Alford and wife Vickie of Thackerville, OK, Jack Alford and wife Janice of Ft. Worth, TX; sister, Mary Gay and husband Jim of Piedmont, OK; sisters in law, Vicky Alford and Gayla Smith Alford; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
