Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from the Steele Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Antioch-Steele Cemetery with military honors. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest is honored to be assisting the Sharp family.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.
Mr. Sharp will be remembered for this love for his family, and fellow man, having, served his country during World War II in the United State Navy. He was a faithful member of Steele Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and former song director. Favorite past times were farming, fishing, gardening, and coon hunting.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Marie Golden Sharp; his parents: Vernon Milton and Vera Estelle Stewart and his sister: Claudine (Jack) Johnson.
He is survived by his children: Jack V. (Virginia) Sharp, Jr.; Joe B. (Debra) Sharp; David Mark (Diann) Sharp; Angela Marie (Ronnie) Hannah and Barry Milton (Charnell) Sharp; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Casey Sharp, Brad Gunter, Nicholas Monk, Andy Smith, Taylor McElhenney, and Ray Phillipson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dillan Yates and T.J. Yates.
