Born in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Hughes and Lila Brown Hughes. Mrs. Conyers was a supervisor at the commissary at Shaw Air Force Base for many years. She was known for making good cakes and was a loving and strong lady. Her true joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Conyers was associated with the Sumter Seventh Day Adventist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: one sister, Lila "Dolly" Reed, and four brothers, J.G. Hughes, Bobby Hughes, Eddie Hughes, and Terry Hughes.
