Higdon, 25, of Odessa, Texas; assigned to the 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Wash.; died May 22 in Taji, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his unit. Also killed was Pfc. Robert A. Worthington.
