Francis "Pap" E. Taylor, of Red Lion, was carried home, unexpectedly, to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at his residence at the age of 72. He was the husband of Helen M. (Mitzel) Taylor to whom he married on October 26, 1987, celebrating 31 years together.

Pap, as he was fondly known by many, was born on February 25, 1946 and was the son of the late Cletus F. and Margaret (Russell) Taylor. He was a machinist at the former New Era Dye in Red Lion and he also worked for H & H Casting in York and ELW in Dallastown, retiring after many years of employment. Pap was a life member of the Steam-O-Rama and a member of the Red Lion Elks. He was a hardworking man, never really taking time to rest, but always doing something. He was a very generous, kind and caring person, but he was also very funny, always the jokester and being silly is what is remembered.

In addition to his wife, he has five children, Karla J. Tompkins, wife of Larry of Red Lion, Barbara A. Taylor of Red Lion, Brian C. Taylor, husband of Robin of York, Brent E. Taylor, husband of Carla of Red Lion and Tiffany A. Slotnik, wife of Michael of Lawrenceville, GA. He was the loving grandfather to eleven grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Pap was the sister of Ethel Shenberger of Windsor and he has numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Taylor and Cletus Taylor, Jr. and a sister, Lillian Taylor.

Viewing will be on Tuesday, December 4th from 9 to 11 am at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Pap will begin at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Ryan Smith officiating. Burial will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to: York Health Foundation, Cancer Patient Help Fund, 50 N. Duke Street, Second Floor, York, PA 17401.

Don't cry for me now I have died, for I'm still here, I'm by your side. My body's gone, but my soul's is here, so please don't shed another tear. I'll be waiting for you, when you are called home. www.BurgFuneralHome.com
