BRIAN JENNINGS “BJ” FAYETTEVILLE – Brian Andrew Jennings “BJ”, 35, of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at Plateau Medical Center, Fayetteville. Born on June 10, 1979 in Red Bank, NJ, he was the son of Alan Keith and Barbara L. Abbot Jennings of Fayetteville. Brian was a 1997 graduate of Fayetteville High School and attended Marshall University for two years. He worked in the rafting industry as general manager for NARR and was a raft guide and river manager with Adventures on the Gorge. He was a professional kayaker, sponsored by Smith Optics, Pyranha Kayaks and Kokatat Industries. Brian was a Level 3 ski instructor (sponsored by Rossingnol) in Massanetten, VA and Angel Fire, NM. He was also a proud member of the USA Freestyle Kayaking Team. Left to cherish many wonderful memories are his parents, Alan and Barbara Jennings; his sister, Kristin Jennings; his girlfriend, Hannah Vogt; maternal grandfather, Lyndon T. Abbot, Jr.; his beloved dog, Chloe; several aunts and uncles; and a host of other family and friends. A Celebration of Brian’s life will be held Sunday evening, July 20, 2014 from 5:30 to 10:30 PM in the Rendezvous Lodge at Adventures on the Gorge. To honor Brian’s wishes he will be cremated.
