Earnest Abel, 94, a longtime Miami resident passed away at his home on Friday, November 30, 2018.

He was born December 10, 1923 in Chouteau, Oklahoma to Martin and Ruby (Dooley) Abel.

He was a member of the United States Army where he was a part of the 776 Engine Petroleum Company. After his honorable discharge from the Army he worked at B.F. Goodrich as a tire builder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being a cowboy. Bood was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and First Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in passing by his parents Martin and Ruby Abel along with his first wife Peggy Lynn (Downing) Abel.

Survivors include his wife Judith (Heyden) Abel of the home, his children; David Abel and his wife Nancy of Florida, Lynn Butler and her husband Danny of Arizona, Lynette Venard and her husband Chet of Perry, Oklahoma, his grandchildren, Amanda Wagonner and her husband Rob of El Dorado, Arkansas, Matt Van Hoose and his wife Ayako of South Korea, Jessica Vernard and Justin Vernard of Perry, Oklahoma. His is also survived by numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Services are 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church in Miami with Reverend Ray Vandegiesen officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Funeral Honors Team. Services are under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.

The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to First Presbyterian's Deacon's Fund.
