Jewel Lean Gardner, 72 of Augusta, died Monday, December 30 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Jewel was born June 25, 1941, in Augusta, Arkansas to Eldridge Fair and Linnie Mae Brown. She was the widow of Peter "PJ" Gardner.
Jewel was a member of the Northside Church of Christ for more than 25 years.
Jewel was employed at the American Greetings manufacturing plant in McCrory for more than 15 years before she retired. She was formerly employed by Roy Shoe Factory. She also worked as a Housekeeper for local families for several years.
Her parents, husband, and three brothers: Bill Fair, Pete Fair, and M.G. Fair; and a sister Johnnie Mae Stewart all preceded Jewel in death.
Survivors are two daughters: Helen Dicus and Ora Mae Cash both of Augusta, AR; a brother Carnell Fair of Oklahoma City, OK; a sister Nellie Mae Meyers of Oklahoma City, OK; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 6 from 4 until 7 PM at Northside Church of Christ, 1206 Rightaway Road in Augusta. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7 at 1 PM at Northside Church of Christ in Augusta with Bro Paul Pollard officiating. Internment will take place New Quiet Cemetery.
