Mr. Lawrence “Bo” Young, 82 of Sylvester, died Friday November 30, 2018 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 4 2018 at the Pine Hill Baptist Church interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Wright and Rev. Walt Tompkins will officiate.
Mr. Young was born on September 4, 1936 in Worth County to the late Grady Lawrence and Minnie Laura Horten Young. He retired from Hormel Foods after 44 years as a salesman. Following his retirement, Mr. Bo worked at Harvey's Supermarket in Sylvester. He enjoying camping, going to gospel sings and was an active member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Randall Young of Leesburg; sister, Beatrice Young Causey (William) of Poulan , brothers, Larry Young of Putney and Tommy Jones (Lisa) of Poulan; grandchildren, Tiffany King, Shaun Young, Susan Pollock; great grandchildren, Tyler, Jake, Caleb, Erin, Brayden, Tison, Curtis and a step-daughter, Keri Hazelton.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Young was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Hullett Young on October 9, 2017; daughter, Gail Young Layfield on March 22, 2014; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Young on August 15, 2018.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home Chapel.
