At Colusa, November 23rd, J. Hop. Woods, aged 42 and 6 months .

Mr. Woods was a native of Pennsylvania, and immigrated to California in 1849 - followed mining for a few years, and in 1852 came to Colusa and engaged in the drug business, which he has continued in ever since. In 1859 he was elected County Treasurer, and held the office for five successive terms, during which time all the people entertained for him the highest respect, and the utmost confidence in his integrity and business capacity. The large attendence at his funeral on Friday, by the people that came on purpose from all parts of the county, shows the greatest respect entertained for him. When the head of the procession had reached the cemetery, the other end of it was yet at the Christian Church. He was a member of the Free Masons and Odd Fellows, both of which organizations assisted at the funeral. He leaves a wife and two interesting little girls.
