Glen Marvin "Old Sparky" Cook Sr., 70, of Terre Haute, passed away at 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Terre Haute, on Sept. 5, 1943, to Marvin M. Cook and Maude Smith Cook. He was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School, was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and was a broadcast engineer for Block Communications.
Glen was a 60-year member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church, Wabash Valley Amateur Radio Association, was former State Emergency Coordinator for the Amateur Radio Emergency Service, and was a Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, of 52 years; two sons, Glen Cook Jr. and wife Tonia, and Joe Cook; son-in-law, Jeff Tucker and wife Jill; two brothers, Paul Cook and wife Betty and Vernon Cook and wife Cathy; and a sister, Wanita Hewitt. He also is survived by his grandchildren, Laura Wright and husband Joseph, Joel Cook, Katie Paulin and husband Cliff, Brandie Cook, Daniel Cook, Michael Cook, and Samuel Cook; great-grandchildren, Knox, Lennex, Talulah, Archer, Fletcher, and Sahara; a sister-in-law, Ruth Cook; as well as several nieces and nephews. Glen was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Tucker; and a brother, Joe Cook.
Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, on Monday, June 30, 2014, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Tim Hewitt officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation also is on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at:
