Mrs. Calhoun was born August 20, 1938 in Meriwether County, Ga., the daughter of Harvey McGraw and Beatrice Pearson McGraw. She was retired as a radio operator for the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Department and was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Raleigh. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Christine loved baking, crocheting, flower gardening and yard work.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Foster Calhoun; a brother, J. W. McGraw; and two sisters, Louise Polk and Jo James.
Survivors include her two sons, Carl Calhoun (Robin) of Panama City, Fl., and Danny Calhoun (Wanda) of Shiloh, Ga.; four grandchildren, Jim Calhoun (Tina) of Manchester, Ga. and Shane Calhoun of Panama City, Fl., Lindie Snyder (Jamie) of Hamilton, Ga., and Daniel Calhoun (Kasey) of Lizella, Ga.; eleven great-grandchildren, a brother, James McGraw of Woodbury, Ga.; a brother-in-law, R. L. James of Harris City, Ga., and several nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Debbie Addison of Woodbury.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 at the chapel of Cox Funeral Home in Manchester. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday, December 2, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 PM.
