Evangeline Krawietz Cox Johnson passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 8, 2018 at the age of 93.

She was born in 1924 in Cestohowa, TX to parents Edward Joseph Krawietz and Anna Kortz Krawietz.

As the oldest child, she grew up spending her time between the family’s property on the Cibolo River and the land by the school in Cestohowa. After graduating high school she worked in a hospital for a bit but soon began her long career with the Southern Pacific Railroad. She was a railroad agent in Luling when she met and married Joe Cox. She had one son, James Cox. She married George Johnson in the late 70’s and they built a home in San Antonio where she was working at the time. She and George spent many years traveling to Luling to take care of the cattle and property. At her home in San Antonio she loved to spend time tending to the yard.

She was preceded in death by her son James and husband George, sister Babe Granger and brothers, Saturn, Emil, Johnny, and Frumence.
