Aunt Marilyn was a teacher and had a heart of gold. She loved education and especially children.

She was cremated and her ashes placed with her daughter Carla.

Marilyn Parker, 74, of Round Rock, formerly of Littlefield, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Round Rock. She was born May 20, 1943 to Byron and Ruby Douglass.
Marilyn attended Littlefield Schools, and graduated from Littlefield High School with the Class of 1961. She obtained her teaching degree, and then taught at Littlefield ISD as a Kindergarten and 1st Grade teacher for many years. She was passionate about teaching, and helping children learn. Marilyn also worked for TMHMR, and taught special needs children for several years. In her spare time, she loved drawing and painting. She also enjoyed traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Marilyn is survived by her two sons, Mark Parker and wife Myriam of Round Rock, TX and Brian Parker of Odessa, TX; four grandchildren, Lacie Bauman, Thomas Parker, Aileen Parker, and Joshua Parker; and three great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Savannah and Olivia Bauman.
She was preceded by both her parents, Byron in 1990 and Ruby in 2004 along with a daughter, Carla Irene Parker in 1967.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church in Littlefield with Reverend Ruth Clendenin officiating. A “tea party” reception will follow, at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Littlefield Primary Library Fund, 1207 E 14th, Littlefield, TX 79339, and please just post in the memo “Marilyn Parker”.
