Virginia “Ellen” Mazur-Ellison, 75, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley. Born at Fayetteville on October 12, 1940; she was the daughter of the late Herman and Mary E. Dial Royal. Ellen was a member of Solid Rock Worship Center, Oak Hill. She was a homemaker and enjoyed raising cockatiels and doves, raising flowers, and reading her Bible. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Sam Mazur; brother, Otto Royal; and sister, Thelma Royal. Left to cherish many wonderful memories include her devoted husband, Doyle Ellison; son, Shawn A. Mazur Sr. (Requel) of Princeton; daughter, Sandra Passmore (Les) of Forsyth, GA; stepchildren: Joe Ellison of Fayetteville, Rex A. Ellison (Dawn) of Shady Spring, Brenda Neff of Fayetteville, Becky Dillon of Fayetteville, Rita Hylton (J.R.) of SC, Terry Smith (Marie) of Fayetteville, Sherman Smith (Norma) of Fayetteville, and Gary Smith of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Shawn Mazur Jr. (Samantha Ann) of Oak Hill, Samantha Mazur of Princeton, and April Passmore (David) of Forsyth, GA; and great-grandchild, Shyann. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the Solid Rock Worship Center, Oak Hill, with Pastor Greg Hurley officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Solid Rock Worship Center, Oak Hill.
