Donald Ray Baker was born April 30, 1948, in Pauls Valley, OK. He had his eternal homecoming on Tuesday, November 27, 2018.

Don was the son of Clyde and Pauline Baker. He had 1 sibling; his sister Debby Martinez.

Don enlisted in the Navy in 1967 and was based in Moffett Field in San Diego, CA.

He married Joan Brawley of Paoli, OK on August 22, 1968. After serving three tours in Vietnam, Don and Joanie moved to Killeen, TX where they welcomed their daughter, Stephanie, in 1972.

Don then attended a community college in Killeen while working at Sears. The couple moved to Waco in 1974 where Don became Sales Manager for the 7UP Bottling Company. In 1984, they returned to the Oklahoma City area where Don worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He also owned and operated several businesses throughout the course of his career. Don and Joanie moved to Tulsa where he began a prison ministry while at Southern Hills Baptist Church. They eventually moved to Noble, where he served as a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Noble.

The loving couple was married for 37 years until Joanie's passing on October 9, 2005. Don was also preceded in death by his father, Clyde. Don married LaVon DeRusha on May 5, 2006.

He was the pastor of Macomb Baptist Church in Macomb, OK for a year and then God called them into the RV ministry in May of 2007. The couple served as chaplains in RV parks in Branson, MO, Arizona City, AZ, Casa Grande, AZ, and Pharr, TX. In 2014, Don's health forced them to officially retire from chaplain service even though they were still active in ministry. In 2015, Don and LaVon moved to Norman where they resided until the time of his passing.

The celebration of life services for Don Baker will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Noble, OK.
