On Thursday, November 29, 2018 Joy Collins Partin Hartt, went to be with the Lord. Joy was born Sept. 14, 1932 to John C. and Ruthie Collins, the youngest of 9 children, and lived her entire life in the Nacogdoches area.
Joy was married to Earl Gene Partin, deceased, and they had three children, five grandchildren, and four great- grand children (number five is expected in April).
Her professional life included many years as bookkeeper/office manager at Tipton Ford in Nacogdoches.
Joy enjoyed gardening, playing “chicken foot”, square dancing and going to Pickin’ and Grinnin’.
She is survived by her three children: daughters Debye Hopper Judge; Beverly Rice and husband Jimmy; her son, Richard Partin and wife Kaye; Grandchildren include Jeff Rice and wife Amanda; Josh Rice and wife Amanda; Jeremy Hopper and wife Linnea; Jaclyn Partin, and Bret Partin and wife Hailey. Great-grandchildren – Braxton Rice, Kreegan Rice (and little brother Kashton expected in April); Tessa Hopper, and Aubrey Partin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Buddy” Hartt.
Visitation will be held at Laird Funeral Home, Nacogdoches beginning 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 3, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Harmony Cemetery.
The family wishes to express sincere and heart -felt thanks to the caring staff of the Memory Care unit at The Arbor. Very special thanks to the compassion and loving staff of Hospice of East Texas. Their care and support has been nothing short of amazing.
