There died in North Dumfries, Sunday evening, at 9 o'clock an old and well respected resident of that township, in the person of Mr. John Bruce. The deceased was born in Scotland in the year 1823 and along with his parents he came to Canada eleven years later, settling on the homestead where he died. In the year 1869 he was married to Janet McLean, of Puslinch township and she survive him. There are also two sons, James and John and two daughters, Isabella and Christine. Mr. Bruce a Methodist in religion, and although he did not take an active part in Politics, he was a staunch Reformer.
