Daniel Thomas "Tommy" Bowers, 78, of Rheatown, went home to his Lord on Tuesday, November 27th.

Mr. Bowers attended Limestone Freewill Baptist Church.

He delivered milk for Pet Milk Co. for several years while also serving as a Greene County Commissioner. After his time at Pet Milk Co. he worked as a Time Keeper at Magnavox for 35 years before retiring and then continuing to work part time at Lawson Chevrolet for several years. In his spare time he enjoyed farming tobacco and hay with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Patricia Bowers; four sons and one daughter-in-law: Danny Bowers, Anthony Bowers, Chris and Vanessa Bowers, and Jon Bowers; several grandchildren: Arie'l and Luke Rog, Todd Bowers & Fiancé Lindsey Davis, Kenney Bowers, Ashlyn Bowers, James Bowers, Brock Bowers, and Alexandria Bowers; one great-grandchild: Addison Bowers. Brothers and sisters-in-law: Bob and Debbie Bowers; George and Carolyn Bowers; Ralph and Brenda Bowers; the Rev. Richard and Dessie Bowers

He was the son of the late Denver and Adlee Bowers, and was preceded in death by his brother: the Rev. James Bowers; sisters and brothers-in-law: Dorothy (Dot) and Marvin Shaw; Grace and Jack Grubbs; Ann and Fred Lamons.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 30th from 2 pm-4 pm and 6 pm-8 pm with a funeral service to follow at 8 pm at Limestone Free Will Baptist Church. 3907 Old Stage Route 34, Limestone, TN.
The gravesite service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 1st at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church. 3585 Old Snapps Ferry Rd, Chuckey, TN. The Reverend Ronnie Duncan and the Reverend Tim Roach and will officiate. Pallbearers are Todd Bowers, Kenney Bowers, James Bowers, Brock Bowers, Luke Rog, Kyler Hall, and Connor Branch. Honorary Pallbearers are Ron Garst, Terry Noland, Jackie Painter, Rickey McKay, Thomas Bowman, Ted Wilhoit, Gary Burgner, Bobby Broyles, Paul Whaley, James Wilhoit, Lynn Grubbs, and Bill Couch.

The family expressed a thank you to the nurses and staff of Caris Hospice of Greeneville, Silver Angels, his caregiver Kathy Phillips, and the extended family at Lawson Chevrolet: Sandy and Jerry.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help find a cure for Alzheimer's disease through The Pat Summitt Foundation, In Memory of Daniel T. Bowers, 520 W. Summit Hill Drive, Suite 1101, Knoxville, TN 37902.
