Martha Lougene “Jean” Headrick, 81, of Chuckey, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by: husband: Lecile Headrick of 63 years; grandchildren: April Season Nye and J.R. Harrell, Israel Nye, SaVana Almon-Joi Nye, Crystal Headrick; great grandchildren: Jameson Wills, Violet Rain-Beau Nye; great-great grandchildren: Ava Josie Lee Wills; sister: Gail Morris; nephews and nieces: Freddie Bible, Rebecca and Scott Wilson, Linda Sue and Hubert Trantham, Jeffrey and Pat Morris, Teresa and Jim Falls, Jerry and Meta Headrick, Lisa and Jim Kindle, Diane and Jason Gibson; aunt: Charlsie Spradlin of Muncie, Indiana; cousins: Johnny Bill, Joey, and Jeff Murray; special cousin: Janice Gass; 2nd cousin: Gina and Rodger Tipton; sister-in-law and Brother-in-law: Fredia Bible, Jean and Marvin Ward, Beulah and Max Sizemore, and Brenda Sexton.

She is preceded in death by: parents: Lenard and Wilma Viles; grandparents: Bob and Mollie Viles, Bill and Martha Johnson; sister: Mildred Thompson; brothers-in-law: Jack Thompson, Walter Morris, Ray Bible, Joe Bob Sexton, Wayne Headrick, Gene Alley and sister-in-law: Hazel Alley; children: James Robert Headrick and Joyce Ann Nye; niece and nephew: Jackie Thompson and Janet Thompson.

She was a member of Oak Grove F.W.B. Church. She retired from Weavex.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-4 PM at Jeffers Funeral Chapel Afton. The funeral service will be held at 4 PM in the chapel, with Pastor Billy Gragg and Pastor Rodney Bailey officiating. Graveside service will be on Monday at 2 PM in Carter’s Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home on Monday at 1 PM to go in precession to the cemetery. Pallbearers are Milton Gross, James Huff, Mike Idell, Steve Kelley, and Lee Roy Lench. Honorary pallbearers are Dean Heaton, Neil Hill, Jimmy Humbert, Charles Jordan, Alfred Shaw, Cliff Shelton and Sunday School Class, Lewis Stroud, Bill Thompson, Randy Tilson, James Tomlinson, J. H. Wilhoit, and Jimmy Box.
