He was born September 30, 1947 in Surry County to the late William Emerson and Ossie Lee Goad Douglas.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ashley Douglas of the home; one daughter, Amy Green and fiancé Tony Johnson of Piney Creek; two grandchildren, Kayne Green and Camille Green both of Piney Creek; two sisters-in-law, Patricia White and husband Larry of Mills River, Patsy Ashley of N. Wilkesboro; brother-in-law, Jerry Ashley and wife Betty of Marion, VA; special canine companion, Buddy; several cousins and other family members also survive.
The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Tom at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Brother Ed Hall, Mr. Jim Shepherd, and Mr. Bryan Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Piney Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery with full military rites conducted by Bruce Wayne Osborne VFW Post #7034. The family will receive friends starting at 12:00 noon until time of the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
