Linda Joyce Franco, 59, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, surrounded by her family at Rex Hospital following a two year battle against brain cancer. Born on July 12, 1947 in Binghamton, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late James V. Franco and Mary Napoli Franco. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Alexander Franco. Linda graduated from the School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She was proud to continue the family tradition of Pharmacy that began with her father. Most recently Linda was employed with CVS Pharmacy. Besides spending time with her family, Linda enjoyed walking and water aerobics. She is survived by her sister, Judy Franco Carroll and husband, Alan, Raleigh; her nephew and niece, James Carroll and wife, Christine and Laurie Carroll Varner and husband, Scott, all of Raleigh; by her great-nieces and Godchildren, Kimberly and Allison Varner; by her aunt, Sarah Napoli, Buffalo, N.Y.; and by several cousins and numerous friends.
Family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, N.C. A Funeral Mass will be said on Saturday, May 26th, at 8:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 200 Hillsborough Street, with interment to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Heath Park Suite 10, Raleigh, N.C. 27615. Arrangements with Mitchell Funeral Home at Raleigh Memorial Park.
