Lawrence, 80, of Stockbridge, MI, passed away at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital on November 26, 2018. He was the son of Hobert and Maxine (Marshall) Long.

Lawrence had lived in the Stockbridge area since he was five years old. He loved spending time outdoors fishing and hunting coyote, deer, rabbit, and birds. Lawrence worked as a machine operator for Dana Corporation for 30 years. He had also volunteered for the Stockbridge Fire Department for 20 years.

On May 26, 1955 he married Lila F. (Oakley), and she survives. Also surviving are four children: Jeffrey (Lori) Long, of Stockbridge, Jerrold (Jannell Quinn) Long, of Stockbridge, James Long, of Stockbridge, and Joseph (Susie) Long, of Chelsea; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren, a sister Deborah Carr, of Stockbridge.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Patrick Long and Robert Long.

Funeral Services were held at the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home on Friday, November 30, 2018. Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery.
