A native of Walhalla, SC, Mr. Gillespie was the son of the late John Adger Gillespie and Etta Duckworth Gillespie. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and later worked for the Oconee County School District then he retired from Jacob’s Chuck. Mr. Gillespie was a member of Coneross Church of God.
Mr. Gillespie is survived by his daughters: Debbie Gillespie and Tonya Gillespie both of West Union, SC.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Gillespie was preceded in death by his brother: Tom Gillespie; sisters: Ruth Cox, Pearl Scruggs, Jessie Bramlett and Flo Shaw.
Burial at Oconee Memorial Park.
