Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Kramer of Colfax and on Friday, November 30, 2018, from 10 a.m. until time of service at Colfax Baptist Church.
Ellen Lucille Thompson, 100, of Colfax passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in her residence.
Mrs. Thompson was a lifetime member of the PTA, a 20 year member of Grant Soil & Water Conversion Board, the Soil & Water Conservation Ladies Auxiliary, and the Colfax Christian Women’s Association (CCWA). Lucille served as a state officer in each position during her over 50 year membership in PEO. Lucille’s community service grew into another great love of hers, traveling with her husband of 57 years and with her PEO sisters. That love of travel expanded to traveling throughout the United States with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a long time member of Colfax Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard S. Thompson; her parents, Wilburn B. Anderson and Emmie Paul Anderson; two brothers, Laird and Raymond Anderson; one sister, Helen Anderson Curtis; two grandchildren, Paul J. “Andy” Anderson and Emmie Anderson Wisniewski.
Lucille Thompson is survived by two daughters, Barbara Lynn Thompson Brown and her husband, Daniel W. Brown of Colfax and Ellen Gayle Thompson Anderson and her husband, Paul J. Anderson of Baton Rouge, LA; seven grandchildren, Markay Brown of Ruston, LA, Kayla Brown Glascock of Benton, LA, Gay Lynn Brown of Freeport, FL, Richard Anderson of New York City, NY, Deborah Moody of Witchita Falls, TX, Chad Anderson of Baton Rouge, LA and Alicia Anderson of Gonzales, LA; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Austin Anderson, Chad Anderson Daniel Brown, Terry Brown, Carson Glascock, Bryan Glascock, Christopher Moody, and George Moody. Honorary Pallbearers will be her PEO sisters and Kay Reynolds.
