Carrie "Edith" Sparks, 80, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. The Lawrence County native was born October 10, 1938, a daughter of the late Ira Clonch and Ruth Short Clonch Robinson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Conrad "Conn" Sparks, who passed away April 28, 2015.

Edith was a 1956 graduate of Dawson Bryant High School and was a former seamstress with Ashland Craft. She was a member of Myrtle Ridge Baptist Church in Kitts Hill.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by:
three sisters: Clara Mable Kitchen of Grayson, KY, Lillie McAfee, and Helen Fleming both of Kitts Hill
a brother: Willie "Bill" Clonch of Kitts Hill

She is survived by:
a daughter: Connie P. (Jade) McDonald of Kitts Hill
a brother: Samuel (Mallie) Clonch of Beaver Falls, PA
two grandsons: Gabriel Salyers and Jacob McDonald
two sisters-in-law: Caroline Clonch of South Point and Kathleen Sparks of Delaware, OH
a special friend: Leon "Ken" Burcham
and many nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio with Rev. Richard Carter and Rev. Leon Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in Ice Creek Cemetery and visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
