Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Strickland, 90 of Ormond Beach passed away Friday, March 24th. Betty Ann was born to John P. and Agnes (Sheak) Gill, here in Daytona Beach. She grew up in Holly Hill, Fl. and attended St. Paul's Catholic Church and School before moving to Cleveland in 1942. After her graduation from Holy Name High School of Cleveland in 1944, Betty Ann began working for Bell Telephone Co. in Ohio. Her career lasted 38 years at Bell and during her tenure she enjoyed singing in the Ohio Bell Telephone Choir and was an active member of St. Patrick's Church in Cleveland. Upon her retirement, Betty Ann moved back to the Daytona Beach area and served as a lector, and Eucharistic Minister at St. Paul's Catholic Church, as well as ministering to the Volusia County prison system for 21 years through St Paul's. She loved traveling and helping others, but her real joy came from her extended family. Betty Ann was predeceased by her husband Paul Strickland and brothers John J., James F., and Peter T. Gill. She is survived by her dear sister Mary Jane (Gill) Kelly, 16 nieces and nephews and their families and her 2 stepsons David and Stacy along with their families. Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 29th from 4-6pm at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Betty Ann at 11am on Thursday the 30th at the Basilica of St. Paul in Daytona Beach. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a .
