Sammy Lee Wells, 63, who resided on Allen St., South Bend, departed this life on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
Sammy was born January 16, 1955 in Drew, Mississippi to Lillie Mae & Robert Lee Wells. The family moved to South Bend in 1958 where he attended South Bend Community Schools, and also had some college education, later becoming a factory worker.
Sammy enjoyed making others happy and putting smiles on your face. On April 6, 1995 he married Vanessa Hill.
He leaves to cherish in memory and love, his mother Lille Mae Wells who took care of him until his last breath. His children, Shaunice Wells, Sammy Lee Wells Jr., of Gardena, CA; De Antre Hill of South Bend, IN; sisters, Velma Tyce, Rose (Daryl) Redding, Sheena (Robert) Barro of South Bend, IN; Darlene (Leon) Hawkins, Wanda, FaShaun Martin and Katrina Williams, and Toya Washington of Chicago, IL; brothers, Curtis Peck, Larry, Donald, Calvin, Demetrius, Matthew, & Bobby Peck of South Bend, IN; Arthur & Charles of Chicago, IL; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, along with five grandchildren and Special God Sister, Valarie Clark, and loving Aunt Sylvia Williams.
Sammy was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Wells, brothers, Carl Lee Wells, and Nathaniel Wells of Chicago, IL.
Services celebrating Sammy's life will be at 12:00 p.m. Noon, Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, where visitation will occur one hour prior to the service. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery.
