Marguerite Rhodes of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018, at the age of 96.

She was born in Birmingham on January 31, 1922, to the late Frank and Mary Etta Robinson Bruner (1890-1980).

Marguerite was a 1940 graduate of Woodlawn High School and as a gifted artist, she became an assistant for Channel 13 in their art department. From there she was the Director of Art for Channel 42 during the late 1960s into the early 1970s.

Preceding Marguerite in death is her husband, Roy Allen Rhodes (1921-2004), and son Joel Grant Rhodes (1944-1961). Also by a brother; Forest Franklin Bruner Jr. (1923-2017).

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Allen (Nancy) Rhodes; Maureen R. McClendon; and Shari (Paul) Boehme; grandchildren, Joel Rhodes; Dannison (Matt) Curtis; Lauren Rhodes; Alex (Amanda) Rhodes; Rachel (Danny) Bobo; Christopher Neese; Claire (Tyler) Simmons; Nicole Bailey; great-grandchildren, Colin Rhodes; Avery Curtis; Riley Curtis; Will Curtis; Braden (Mellissa) Eddy; Bethany Stewart; Kristin Bobo; Connor Simmons; and great-great-grandchild, Harper Eddy.

Visitation will be at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Thursday, November 29, 2018, from 12:30 – 1:30 PM with funeral services beginning at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
