Delores J. (Chapman) Harris, 91, passed away peacefully on Nov. 26, 2018. She was born in Chicago on April 7, 1927 and was preceded in death by her husband, William, parents, Percy and Ellen Chapman and sister, Lorraine Weber. Delores is survived by daughter, Carol Sander (Judy Bauer), son, Scott Harris (Sherry), grandkids, Laura, Randall, Michael and great-grandkids, Nick, Erica, Ryan and Victoria. Delores graduated from Niles Township H.S. and DePaul University. She taught P.E. for the Chicago Public Schools for 25 years. She had been an avid basketball, softball and volleyball player. Delores also enjoyed golf and bowling. While attending college Delores was selected to compete for the Texas Cowgirls basketball squad, which toured the country with the Harlem Globetrotters. Delores had a great sense of humor and was loved by many. She was always the life of the party. The family would like to thank JourneyCare Hospice and Comfort Care for all of their support and compassion. Donations to Alzheimer's Association are appreciated. No services are planned.
