Funeral services for Frances Nixon Woods of Winona will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Scotland Cemetery near Winona. Rev. John Jacks will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 29, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Woods, 78, passed away at Winona Manor in Winona on Monday, November 26. She was born in Vaiden on February 28, 1940, to L. T. and Nannie Miller Nixon. She was a former employee of Screw Conveyor and a longtime employee of the Winona Times. Mrs. Woods was a member of Scotland Baptist Church near Winona. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Randy Dell "R.D." Woods; and her brother, Danny Nixon.
Mrs. Woods is survived by her husband, James E. "J.E." Woods of Winona; two sons, Jerry Woods (Angela) of Winona and Randy Woods of Winona; three sisters, Pauline Forsythe of Tupelo, Judy Stanford of Poplar Creek,, and Linda N. Hodges of Poplar Creek; two grandchildren, Laura B. Woods and Joseph H. Woods; and several nieces and nephews.
