Gary was born in Port Arthur. He worked as a mechanic at Powell Equipment for 8 years before moving to Northern Wood Preservers where he was a Mechanical Foreman for 35 years. Gary served with the 85th Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets for 23 years, attaining the rank of Captain and was a member of Br. #5 of the Royal Canadian Legion. Gary loved camping, fishing, car races and in later years enjoyed woodworking. He was especially proud of his 3 children and their spouses and his 8 grandchildren.
Left to mourn are Gary’s wife of 45 years Linda (nee Magill), daughters Deborah (Markus) Poole-Hofmann and Sherri (Glenn) Scholz, son Kevin (Andrea) Middleton, grandchildren: Dustin and Riley Poole, Eric Hofmann, Melissa and Brittany Scholz, and Liam, Ethan and Lukas Middleton; sisters-in-law Roxie Jean of Sarnia, Ontario and Wilma Magill of Whitehorse, Yukon, nieces and nephews and his special snacking buddy Misty. He was predeceased by his parents Pearl and Sandy Middleton, in-laws Donedin and Harold Magill and brothers-in-law Don Magill and Charles Jean.
