Hazel Louise Yost (nee McAtee), 86, of Newbury, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018, Thanksgiving Day.

She was born March 19, 1932, in Windsor Township, Morgan County, OH. She is the daughter of Enoch “Nick” and Bernice (McVeigh) McAtee.

In 1950, she married George G. Yost, Jr., and moved up to Northeast Ohio. They lived in Bentleyville for 40 years where they raised their six kids. In 2000, they sold their property to Bentleyville, and it became the Bentleyville Park.

Hazel loved to embroider, read, cook, plant flowers, play games, and do puzzles. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, George G. Yost, Jr.; her parents; brothers, Hobart McVeigh, Donald McVeigh and Dale McAtee; daughter, Susan Blumer; and grandson, Christopher Blumer.

She is survived by her children, Nelson (Noni) Yost, William (Tina) Yost, Linda (Richard) Jablonski, Elaine Yost, George (Jackie) Yost III; grandchildren, Jesse Yost, Eric Yost, Neil Yost, Rebecca Yost, William Yost, Thomas Yost, Ryan Yost, Jamie Blumer, Raven Blumer, Joseph Jablonski, James Jablonski, Beth Taphous, Courtney Taphous, Kevin Taphous, and Ethan Popour; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Shorts Funeral Home in Streetsboro, Ohio.

Interment: Evergreen Cemetery, Streetsboro, OH.
