David S. Turner, Sr.
April 20, 1948 - November 21, 2018

Davis S. Turner, Sr. passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. Our hero lived for his family and gave his life saving them. David was born April 20, 1948 in Dallas, Texas to the late Sylvester and Gertrude Turner. He married Deborah Turner, the love of his life on February 24, 1973. David served in the United States Army. He dedicated his life to serving the community and spending time with and mentoring young people. David coached youth football, led youth groups and was the commander of the Royal Rangers. He was in law enforcement for over 50 years. After retiring from LSO in 1991, David returned to law enforcement in 2001. He retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole Division in April 2018.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Deborah; children, David Turner II, Hallie Taylor, Priscilla Turner; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Venue on Broadway. Celebration of Life service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the First Assembly of God with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
