Jimmy Dale Gibson, 58, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee died Monday, November 26, 2018.

He was a 1979 graduate and former football player at South Pittsburg High School and was a lifelong Pirates fan. He retired from WestRock (formerly Mead) and was an avid hunter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles William Gibson, brother, P.W. Walker, and nephew, Andrew “Drew” Gibson.

He is survived by his mother, Ella Ruth Gibson; brother, Chuck (Mitzi) Gibson; sisters, Grace Gibson and Rose Crouch; nephews, Bradley (Megan) Gibson, Buster (Karen) Crouch, and Randall (Anna) Rorex; nieces, Ramona Branham and Betsy (Scott) Harris; uncles, Billy (Anita) Thomas and Jerry (Marie) Thomas; great-nephews, Memphis Gibson, Enrique “Kike” Ramirez, William McKinney, and Ty Crouch; great-nieces, Leslie (Adam) Langford and Jenny Rose (Steven) Pericht; and special friend, J. R. Rollins.

Funeral services will be held at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Central time with Rev. Robert Caudil and John Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, November 28th from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
