Scott E. Russell, age 52, died on July 4, 2016 at home after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Scott Earl Russell was born on May 15, 1964 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Earl and Bettie (Peppard) Russell. He was a 1982 graduate of Brother Martin High School in New Orleans. He then graduated from Louisiana Tech University. After graduating and receiving a commission to become an officer in the United States Air Force, Scott married Pamela Waguespack on August 28, 1987 in Minot, North Dakota. He later received his Masters of Business Administration Degree, with a concentration in Aviation, from Embry Riddle University. Major Russell was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son. He retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years of service in the missile and space career field, and five duty stations, at the rank of Major. He was an avid HO scale model train hobbyist, loved movies and music from the 1980s, and was enthusiastic about crewing for hot air balloons.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Russell and brother, Melvin Russell.
