Gary Wayne Ellis; 50 of Kannapolis, North Carolina formerly of Hunt (Greenville, WVA), was called home to be with Jesus on Sunday November 25, 2018 leaving from the Carolinas Continue Care Hospital.

He was born September 26, 1968, a son of the late Herman Brown and Ruth Ellis Brown of Hunt, WV. Gary loved to Hunt, Fish, and Praise the lord but most of all spending time with his family.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his Maternal grandparents; Mary and Ralph Ellis; Paternal grandparents; Ulysses and Mary Brown, 4 uncles; Bill Brown, Ulysses Brown, Jerry Lee Ellis, Eddie Ellis, 4 Aunts; Marla Workman, Brenda Brickles, Agnus “Big Ag” Gurskey, Judy Frye, a nephew; Freddie Penge Jr., four cousins; Jerry Dale Ellis, Joey Leininger, Jaunita Bragg and Larry Frye.

In addition to his mom the Logan County native is survived by his wife of 23 years whom he married on May 5, 1995 Shawn Paynter Ellis, 2 sons; Dakota Ellis and his wife Cameron King Ellis, Gary Ellis II, a daughter; Kailey Michelle Ellis, 5 brothers; Rush Lee Brown and his wife Kathy, Dewey Brown and his wife Vickie, Michael David Toler and his wife Gina, Bronzie James “Jamie” Ellis, Herman Lee Brown II, 2 sisters; Mary Penge and her husband Fred, Mary Ann Lester and her husband James; 2 grandchildren; Avery Ellis Ember Ann Huffman, special aunt; Betty Ellis, a special sister in law; Jamie Wojciec Howki and her husband Matt, a niece; Aubree Pugh, a close friend; Donna Grimmett and a host of family and friends.

Graveside Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm Friday November 30, 2018 in the Mausoleum Chapel of the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Peck Mill, WV with Rev. Phillip Grimmitt officiating. The Funeral procession will depart from the church at Noon.

Friends may call from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm with the Funeral Services at 7:00 pm on Thursday November 29, 2018 at the Greenville Baptist Church where Rev. Baxter Toler will welcome the family and do the Eulogy and Rev. Johnny Hall will preach the funeral.
