Funeral Services for Mr. Jackie Levon Walker, Sr., 67, of New Smyrna Bch, who passed on Saturday, November 24, 2018, will be 11 AM, Friday, November 30, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Douglas, Hamilton, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM, Thursday, Nov 29, at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church and from 9:30 AM until service time at the church on Friday.
Mr. Walker was born in New Smyrna Beach, to Joseph Walker and Dora Brown Mayes on August 21, 1951. He graduated from New Smyrna Beach High School then served in the US Army where he was honorably discharged in 1977. He was employed with Volusia County School Board until he retired. He enjoyed fishing and was a great cook.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Walker on October 22, 2001. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Robert Brown, and a sister: Gwendolyn Walker. He is survived by: seven children: Jacqueline Walker, Alexander Woodard, Jackie Walker, Jr., Shawnetrae Walker, Dora Walker, Daphne Walker, and Cody Ervin; 14 grandchildren; two brothers: Carl Walker, and Richard Walker; four sisters: Elouise Ryans, Doretha Wade, Floretta Seibles, Norma Brown; and a host of nieces and nephews.
