BATAVIA - Jonathan Charles Goldman, 39, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018. The son of Myron and Charlene (Gramling) Goldman, Jon was born on September 16, 1979 in Elgin. He is survived by his parents, loving wife, stepson and siblings. Jon was a loving uncle. Jon was a 1998 graduate of Larkin High School. He earned an Associate of Arts from Elgin Community College and a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College of Missouri. Most recently, he was a teacher of culinary arts at Bartlett High School. Jonny's vibrant personality touched many people throughout his life. Everywhere he went, he left a lasting impression. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, and will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 28 from 4-8 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, November 29 at Congregation Kneseth Israel, 330 Division St., Elgin. Burial will be held on Thursday, November 29 at 11:30 AM at Bluff City Cemetery, 945 Bluff City Blvd., Elgin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Jon's memory to Bartlett High School for the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America club.
