On Saturday, March 26, 2016, our most loved, Melody Martin passed away very suddenly at the age of 48 years.

Known affectionately as “June,” Melody Bernice Calacino Martin was one of four children. She was born on May 2, 1967, the daughter of Joe and Melody Malcolm Calacino. Her brother, Alex Calacino, and sisters, Jo Michelle Williams and Bobbie Calacino survive as well.

June graduated from Concord University with a Bachelor degree in Social Work and Marshall University with a Masters’ degree in counselling. She was employed as a counsellor with the FMRS Health Systems in Beckley.

June touched so many lives through her work and personal life. She never met a stranger and was always the first one to lend a hand to anyone in need.

In addition to her parents and siblings, she leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of thirty plus years, Jerry T. Martin; her loving children, Ashley M. Moore, Taylor C. Martin and Angela L. Petry; she was the proud grandmother of Landon, Hunter, Carter, Khloe, Elijah and Brooklynn. There are two nephews and four nieces, a nephew, Bradley Joe Williams preceded her in death. June was blessed with a host of friends.

June enjoyed traveling, family vacations, reading, playing bingo and watching Joyce Myer videos. Her greatest joy in later years was playing with her grandkids.

A “Service of Remembrance” will be held on Friday, April 1.
