The daughter of Vincent Boyd and Betty Grace (Parks) McCaulley, she was born Feb. 14, 1955, in Latrobe.
Gloria was a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church, Winston-Salem. She graduated from Blairsville High School, Class of 1973, and worked as a mail carrier for the postal service. Her family and her pets were the center of her life.
Surviving are her husband, Mason Porter, whom she married Nov. 17, 1973; a son, Mason A. (Heather) Porter, of Debary, Fla.; and a daughter, Betty Jacquelynn (Richarde) Johnson, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Michael G. Johnson, Caitlyn V. Porter, Mason R. Porter, Brianna R. Johnson and Maddux M. Johnson; a brother, Gary (Barbara) McCaulley, of Blairsville; three sisters, Cathy Metalla, Annie (Paul) Flowers and Rose (Jake) Lobo, all of Blairsville; and her fur babies, Lucy, Amber Jean and Cookie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald “Bumper” McCaulley.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Shoemaker Funeral Home Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Todd Stanley officiating. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
