Christie (Fitch) Moore, 88, of West Dover, widow of Lewis H. Moore, died Monday evening at the home of her son, Howard Moore of South Newfane. She was born in Wilmington on June 9, 1892, daughter of Delphi R. and Eleanor (Curtis) Fitch. She was a resident of the Wilmington-Dover area most of her life. Her marriage to Mr. Moore took place Sept. 30, 1911. He died in 1941. Following her husband's death, Mrs. Moore cared for a number of incapacitated persons including Mrs. Stone of Lake Raponda, Mrs. W.E. Ward of South Deerfield, Mass., and the family of Mrs. Howard Rubendahl of Mount Hermon School. She also worked at Wilbraham (Mass.) Academy for a time. The later years of her life were spent caring for her late brother and his wife, Dorr and Adella Fitch. Besides her son, Mrs. Moore leaves two daughters, Mrs. Audrey VanWyck of Chicopee, Mass., and Mrs. Gertrude Frulla of Indian Lake, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Covey & Allen Funeral Home in Wilmington. The Rev. Dr. Paul Blacketor, pastor of Wilmington Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Intervale Cemetery, Wilmington. There are no calling hours at the funeral home.
