Visitation was held Friday, March 31, 2000, at Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points from 6-8 p.m. Services for Maurine Landrum Smith, 79, of Tool were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2000, at Providence Baptist Church in Tool with Rev. Ted Eaton and Brother Irvin Anthony officiating. Interment followed in the Tool Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points.
Mrs. Smith was born March 5, 1921, in Tolosa, and passed away Thursday, March 30, 2000, in Athens. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maude Thorton Landrum.
She moved to the lake area from Dallas eighteen years ago, was a homemaker, and was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Tool.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Ray Smith of Tool; son, Donald Ray Smith of Troy, Montana; daughters, Marsha Thomas of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Cathy Carter of Garland; brother, Raymond Landrum of Tolosa; sister, Willie Mae Smith of Tool; and ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
