Christina Victoria Grimmie was an American singer, songwriter, and a musician. At a young age, in 2009, she created a Youtube account that jump-started her career. She posted many videos of herself singing cover songs of other famous artists. She started to gain popularity for her youtube videos, and gained many listeners and viewers. She had millions of viewers on each of her cover videos, and had gained over 2 million subscribers on her Youtube channel in 2013. Her most popular cover songs were ‘Titanium’ by David Guetta ft. Sia, and ‘Just A Dream’ by Nelly (covered by Sam Tsui and Christina Grimmie). Both of the cover songs hit more than 20 million views on Youtube. She moved from her hometown Marlton, New Jersey to Los Angeles, California to pursue her singing career. Although she loved singing cover songs from different artists, she wanted to make her own songs and albums. In 2011, Grimmie released her first extended play ‘Find Me’ and later released her album “With Love” in the year 2013. Her album debuted at number 101 on the US Billboard 200. In 2014, Grimmie auditioned for the season 6 of “The Voice,” which is a popular signing competition on NBC. Her performance shocked the judges and the audience, and she successfully finished in 3rd place of the competition. Grimmie released her new single called ‘Stay With Me’ from her upcoming album, ‘Cliché’ in 2015. On June 10, 2016, Christina Grimmie was shot while signing autographs after her performance in Orlando. She passed away on June 10th, and later on June 16th, 2016, she was buried in a private ceremony at Berlin Cementary.Singer, songwriter and YouTuber. She was born in Marlton, New Jersey, to Albert and Tina Grimmie. She had a brother, Marcus. Grimmie grew up in Marlton, but then she moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a singing career. She began her career performing cover versions of songs by Christina Aguilera, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. In June 2011 she released an extended play, Find Me, followed by With Love in August 2012. In 2014, Grimmie participated in Season 6 of NBC's singing competition, The Voice, and finished in third place. On March 4, 2015, Grimmie announced that she was working on a new album which is set to be released late 2015. The new single from her upcoming album, Cliché, was released on March 16, 2015. On April 27, 2015, Grimmie released her second single, Stay With Me, a collaboration with Diamond Eyes, followed by Shrug on July 2, 2015. On June 10, 2016, Grimmie was shot while she signed autographs following her performance with Before You Exit at The Plaza Live in Orlando. She died on June 10. On June 16, 2016, Grimmie was buried in a private ceremony at Berlin Cemetery. Interment was followed by a memorial service June 17, 2016 at Fellowship Alliance Chapel in Medford.
