Don Ted Harris, Sr. 80 of New Bern formally of Jacksonville died at his home in New Bern Friday Nov. 23, 2018.
Major Don Harris, better known by his nickname “Tiny”, served honorably and faithfully in the United States marine Corp for 23 years. For the next 23 years he was a dedicated employee of the Stanadyne Corporation in Jacksonville, retiring from the company as Plant manager.
Funeral mass will be held 11:00 AM Thursday Nov. 29, 2018 at Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Jacksonville. Interment will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veteran Cemetery with military honors.
Surviving, his wife, Janet Buvens Harris of the home. Three daughters, Barbara Toney and husband Edgar of Charlotte (daughter Bonnie), Mary McGee and husband Richard of New Bern daughters Lindsey, Brittany and son Joe), and Debra Brewer and her husband Michael of Albuquerque, NM (son Matthew). One son Don Ted Harris, Jr and wife Sherry of Raleigh (daughters Jennifer and Jessica). Preceded in death by his parents his brothers and his sister.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville
