Myron R. Perry
Myron R. Perry of Friendswood, TX passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Southeast Memorial Hermann Hospital.

He was born June 21, 1920 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to Myron T. and Florence (Clarke) Perry. Myron was a World War II Army veteran with 50 bombing missions over Egypt and Northern Italy. He was also a survivor of the Monsanto Chemical Plant explosion in Texas City on April 16, 1947.

He was the Mayor of Middletown, New York from 1974-1982 before returning to Texas to be near his family. Retirement didn't last long as he found himself working for the Municipal Utilities of Galveston from 1982-1987, also serving on the Santa Fe, Texas water board. Myron was God's little helper at All Saints' Episcopal Church in Hitchcock, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth McQueen, Emily Wilson; wife of 69 years, Mary Louise (Hemingway) Perry; and daughter, Barbara Mabee. Survivors include his son, Richard and wife, Katie (Bickel) Perry; daughter, Joan and husband, Walter Ott; grandchildren, Allison Ott Head, Michelle Perry Hernandez, Kevin Perry; great grandchildren, Ryan Hernandez, Dane Perry, Josie and Eliza Head.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501. No services are planned. Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to All Saints' Episcopal Church, 10416 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX 77563
