Yvonne M. Thompson, of Ormond Beach, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014. She was born to Clem and Grace (Mason) Melancon on October 8, 1929 in Denver, Colorado. She was 84. Yvonne was a member of Oceanside Country Club, Cherry Laurel Garden Club, First Presbyterian Church of Daytona Beach, and she formerly volunteered as a Pink Lady at Halifax Medical Center. She was an avid bridge player and she also enjoyed playing the piano, reading and travel. Yvonne is survived by her husband of 67 years, Donald Leon Thompson; her daughter, Charlyn G. Thompson; two sons, Craig M. Thompson and Donald L. Thompson Jr.; two grandsons, Brandon Thompson and Matthew (Mindy) Thompson. At the decedents request, there will be a private memorial service. Memorial donations may be made to either: Gentiva Hospice, 1717 Clyde Morris Blvd. Suite 130, Daytona Beach FL 32117 or the Halifax Humane Society, 2364 LPGA Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32124.
