Bud and his twin brother, Bob, were the sixth and seventh children born to Frank Charles and Mary Ann (Pozorski) Jedlicka. They were born in Bell township, Bayfield county, Wisconsin on February 5, 1925. Bud was the only one of the eleven Jedlicka children, surviving to adulthood, that did not marry. He served in the US Navy during WWII working in the boiler room of the various ships to which he was assigned. He also worked on the ore boats on the Great Lakes. Bud spent many summers in Idaho prospecting over the years. He would work construction or on the boats in between trips to Idaho. Bud worked for the State of Michigan for about 15 years before retiring. He would then spend his time split between relatives helping with any projects they needed done and summers camping in Idaho. He spent a number of years in Escanaba before purchasing a home in Ironwood, Michigan. Bud was well loved by his many nieces and nephews and their children. Everyone looked forward to a visit from Uncle Bud. Bud was the last surviving child of Frank and Mary Ann Jedlicka. He passed away in Ironwood, Michigan on Halloween night 2013 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Washburn, Wisconsin near his sister, Beatrice Irene (Jedlicka) Badura.
