Marie grew up in Parkersburg and attended country school. At age 13 she moved to Lyon County, IA. After marriage they lived on a farm east of George until moving to Sibley in 1954. She became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in 1991 where she passed away at the age of 91. Marie was a member of the Zoar Presbyterian Church, George, and the First Presbyterian Church, Sibley, when she lived in Sibley.
Surviving are her children; Loren, Orval, Marlyn (Ethel), Mare (Ron) Niebruegge, Sharon (Marvin) Schultz; 17 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the First Presbyterian Church, Sibley, with the Rev. David Ullom officiating.
